Coins and Distance

Each one brings me closer.
I know to the moment when I step through that door and feel like myself once more.
Every coin I save, every day I earn, fuels the fire,
Keeps the flame to burn.
Distance can't erase what's real; this ache reminds me what I feel.
I'm counting coins and counting days,
Through the sweat and tired heads.
Two shifts down, my body breaks,
But love is stronger than the ache.
