After Midnight

You look outside like something is waiting.
After midnight, everything feels honest.
After midnight, nobody pretends.
After midnight, even silence knows our names.
Your jacket still on my chair, one shoe near the door.
We keep talking about nothing,
Like nothing can save tonight.
