Under One Sky

The train moved slowly through the morning.
I watched your window disappear.
You left a letter on the table with three small words I couldn't hear.
We were not broken by the distance.
We were defeated by the time.
Two hearts that wanted to stay together but couldn't make the stars align.
Where love goes, nobody knows.
We said goodbye under one sky.
I kept the ticket from that journey.
Inside the book you gave to me.
Sometimes I read the date and wonder what we were meant to be.
Where love goes, nobody knows.
