Let It Go

Let it go, let it go, set it free in a silent night.
Let it go, let it go, release its grip, let it take flight.
Let it go, let it go, set it loose and leave it behind.
Every fear I used to keep, every word that I left unsaid,
All the promises I couldn't keep,
I've been living in my head.
I keep it shut, but it knocks against my ribs,
A quiet bruise under my skin.
I don't need to run from what I feel; it's just me here,
And what I've let in.
