Give Me Another Week

I count the hours like loose change, hold them tight,
Then let them fall away.
Give me another week, I'll tell you what I know,
Tell you how I sat up watching the phone glow.
Give me another week, don't let the quiet win,
I'll say the words out loud once you let me in.
You left your hoodie on the arm of the couch,
I wear it to the storm, feel the weight of how you touch.
The bus goes by with nobody in the seats, I text a question,
I delete it, then repeat.
I count the hours like loose change, hold them tight,
Then let them fall away.
