Million Miles Closer

So you don't fade away like a dream I once knew?
With every beat in my chest, with every breath I make,
Did you leave me behind just to feel what it takes?
You're a million miles away,
And the only road I take is letting everything break.
So you're free to drift away.
If forever really exists, and the end is just a gate,
Why does every step I take feel like I'm losing you again?
