When Morning Comes

I count her pills by the sink, then I whisper,
"Amen." The room smells like bleach and rain,
But she still sings along.
I hold her hand like a vow, trying to stay strong.
If you hear me, Lord, hear me now.
I'm standing in the dark, but I won't bow.
