Memories

Never hear the lonely conversations of the night.
I was fighting every demon, hiding deep beneath my skin,
Trying to heal the emptiness I always kept within.
Late drives through the city, with the radio turned low,
Watching all the passing lights like dreams I used to know.
Every star above the darkness felt connected to my pain,
Like the universe was teaching me that nothing stays the same.
Now I drive beyond the ruins of the person I became; all the tears and all the losses never happened all in vain.
