Same Old Roads

I'm back on the same old roads,
Where some things change and some, some things don't.
The heart of this town still beats the way it did,
Though I'm not the same old kid driving these same old roads.
I passed by the school where I carved your name,
The building's been painted but it feels the same.
There's apartments where the driving used to be,
But that water tower still watches over me.
The church bells ring on Sunday like before,
But I don't recognize the houses anymore.
