Boarding Pass Away

Like clocks stopping early before I was ready to rest.
We promised forever,
When forever meant "here," now it's just a word that dissolves in the air.
You're boarding a plane to another life,
I'm waving goodbye but I'm breaking inside.
We'll try to stay close,
But the truth doesn't lie; this version of us is running out of time.
You're boarding a plane, and I'm staying behind, ooh,
Our friendship will shift into something less mine.
We talked about visits and video calls,
But I know how this goes,
How the distance will crawl between all the moments we won't get to share.
