Becoming My Own Stranger

He wants to be a hero, but he don't know what that takes,
Every road to something better brings him back to his mistakes.
He'd give everything to something if he knew which thing was his,
But he gives a little more away each time he thinks it is.
Puts his money on another future,
Signs before his nerve gives out,
Then lies awake till morning trying to find a way back out.
He's becoming his own stranger,
