The River's Song

So smooth by time; I trace the echoes, memories in line.
They've seen the floods,
They've felt the burning droughts; the silent secrets water carries out.
I see us dancing on the edge of light,
Two fleeting shadows in the summer night.
The tide is rising,
I can feel the change; everything we knew is being rearranged.
The current pulls, the banks will change their shape,
