Slower Than a Secret

Don't say nothing; I already feel it.
You wait inside the half-light, the whole room loses sound.
Your shadow reaches first; your hands don't move at all.
I keep my eyes wide open, I let the silence spin.
You haven't even touched me, and the night is giving in.
Leave one inch between us, let it ache, let it breathe.
I don't want the ending; I want the almost-in-between.
