Plain and Simple

Not because there's a lesson I need to learn.
My kindness isn't a business plan; there's no return I'm keeping score.
I just care, plain and simple.
That's the whole shape of my love.
Don't mistake my softness for no limits.
Don't mistake my patience for no end.
I can give you everything that's real and still walk away if you please.
Then my heart was never a transaction,
But it's not an open door for everyone.
I give because I choose to,
Not because I owe you what's already done.
I've learned that meaning what I say doesn't mean I owe you all of me.
