Nobody asked

Nobody asked, so it stayed.
I used to bring things to the table,
Things I thought would work the space.
I stopped when I noticed no one was looking at my face.
I learned to read the room, I learned to fold it in.
I got so good at silence,
I forgot there was something within.
Nobody asked, so I stopped offering.
Nobody asked, so I let it go.
Nobody asked, so I forgot I had answers.
Nobody asked, so I stopped having questions.
