Call My Name

Yes, I should have called your name.
Two yellow chairs upon the timber floor, screen door banged,
Shut; you didn't look behind.
Half cup of coffee by the wooden door,
Left on the railing just to mark the time.
A heavy word tossed on the gravel track,
Stuck in the dust before the engine roared.
A stubborn man don't turn his shoulders back,
Even when the evening's getting cold.
