Almost Went Up

I know what I came for, I know what needs done,
But knowing and doing aren't the same.
I almost went, almost opened the door,
Almost said the thing that I can't take back anymore.
I almost went up, almost faced what I knew,
But I'm down here trying to be someone brave and new.
Your window has a glow.
You're probably awake, wondering where I went,
Wondering if I'd break.
