Third Times the Pattern

I keep running diesel through the night,
Thinking distance gonna make it right; three wives,
Three tries, same man behind the wheel,
Can't outrun what's chasing me for real.
I blame the highway, blame the load,
But the problem's riding in every road; third time's the pattern,
Not the charms, I'm the storm, does the harm.
She packed her mother's challenge,
Said she'd make her home; six months in,
She's learning how it feels alone.
