The Sign Still Stands

Maybe he would understand.
Maybe he would close the door.
I'll never really know now what he was.
The sign still stands where he built it,
With his name painted in pride.
I turned my back on the promise.
Now I carry it inside.
The sign still stands reminding what I walked away to find.
I'm building something honest,
